Associate attorney in landlord/tenant law firm

We are seeking a lawyer with ~2-5+ years experience to join our well-established practice in a landlord tenant firm. We represent commercial and residential landlords with all types of disputes, including lease disputes, fair housing claims, discrimination, evictions, retaliation, etc. Residential landlord tenant law in Oregon is a complicated area of law that requires knowledge of federal, state and local laws. Oregon is in desperate need of experts in this field because there are innumerable rental agreements between Oregon tenants and landlords, and therefore innumerable opportunities for error and dispute. The Oregon Residential Landlord Tenant Act allows a prevailing party to recover attorney fees and so tenants are often able to find an attorney. Oregon landlords require considerable representation. Similarly, commercial lease disputes are frequent. Those disputes are largely governed by the written agreements of the parties, requiring a thorough understanding of contract law. This individual will be responsible for drafting communications, agreements and legal memoranda, attending court hearings, compiling and maintaining electronic case files, and acting as an advocate to our clients. The person will immediately make courtroom appearances. The person will have immediate and direct client interaction. The person will intake new clients and handle trials after they are experienced and well-versed in landlord tenant law. The ideal candidate will have some familiarity or experience with landlord tenant law, but any background in real property will be sufficient for consideration.
