Production Lead, Machine Room (Night Shift)

In this role, you will be mentoring and coaching employees working in the specific area of responsibility (whether it be bindery, fabricating, cutting, or kitting). The Production Lead trains new and existing employees on the most efficient and effective methods of machine set-up and process flow. You will have the opportunity to learn new equipment, first, and as the subject matter expert, will then train and evaluate the work of the other team members. This position will not, however, have management responsibilities for the team members such as hiring, firing, or completing performance reviews. You will, however, provide feedback to the manager as to how well the team members are learning the necessary skills required of the team roles. This role is a working lead role, and as a result, it will be necessary for the lead to also complete the applicable work on the job ticket and follow and adhere to the specific job requirements. You will be responsible for the last quality check before shipment to TBG/SmartPress customers and is the key liaison with the CSR and managers to ensure the job is completed successfully within the customers' parameters.Shifts Available: Wednesday - Friday 5:45 PM - 6:15 AMA variety of these traits will help land you this job. If you have:High school diploma or GED required.Preferred 3 years experience in CNC routingOSHA 10 Hour certification a plusOn top of that you must:be able to conform to shifting prioritieshave high level communication skillsbe reliable and trustworthyhave problem solving abilitiesbe able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work operating equipmentbe able to lift print media and substrate weighing up to 50 poundsbe able to posses color vision in order to check color quality of printed materials & read a ruler to a 1/16th of inchbe able to apply manual dexterity and visual acuity for cutting equipment and computer keyboarding use and to review detailed reports, instructions, print materials, and informationIn this position, you will:work closely with the supervisor in prioritizing and directing department work flowsupport safe environment, driving towards 0 OSHA recordables & maintain high quality standardsensure assembly integrity through continuous monitoring of departmental processeseffectively communicates with the fabrication team to ensure production schedule aligns with customer needsmaintain appropriate levels of supplies to meet production requirementsmonitor issues and receipts for work ordersestablish open lines of communication with the production floorrepresent corporate policy and communicate to employees as requiredensure training and skills matrix are in compliance with training policy & work to further develop team's skillwork toward continuous improvement by monitoring efficiency & productivity & implement improvementsdrive improvements in material flow, including cell design and material deliveryinteract with other support departments as required, driving out costs where possiblecomplete and quality check each job according to ticket specifications, producing quality worklearn existing equipment and train and learn on new equipmenttroubleshoot production problems to ensure productivity and quality standards are metput away stock on shelves, break down boxes and clean up after shifttroubleshoot and remedy programming issues as needed to ensure minimal downtime on the machinesconform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytics and problem solvingperform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by managementTo get hired at The Bernard Group, you MUST be:able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
