Commercial Construction Estimator

Job Description Founded in 2008, J C Porter Construction is a Baltimore based full-service General Contractor providing quality construction, design-build services & construction management for public, private and nonprofit enterprises. J C Porter employs over 30 employees.Currently hiring an Estimator to join our team at J C Porter Construction. Interested candidates will need at least four years of experience in the industry to bid/budget projects generally in the $50k - $10 Million range. The projects tend to be interior fit-outs/renovations for offices, retail, restaurants, etc.Responsibilities include:· Preparing invitations to bid· Collecting and interpreting all subcontractor quotes and scopes of work· Prepare clear, concise, and accurate bid proposals· Produce construction schedules for bids· Concurrent estimating of multiple projects at a time· Site visits· Submitting requests for information to architects· Coordinating with architects and clients to prepare bids and provide scope of work to subcontractorsQualifications:· A thorough knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, electrical, and mechanical trades.· Able to read and interpret construction drawings· Self-starter, Proactive, and Schedule Oriented· Knowledge of Microsoft Office required (Word, Excel and Project)· Able to provide own transportation· Excellent communication skillsSalary: Depending on level of experience $70,000 to $100,000 plus benefits.
