EPS Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Writer to support programs for the U.S. Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) in Panama City, Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining clear and accurate technical documentation to support engineering, operations, and program management teams. Requirements3-5 years of relevant experience in technical documentation writing and editing.Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detailAbility to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and picturesExcellent written skills in EnglishStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and PowerPointMust be a self-starter and able to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelinesStrong organization skills, attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills are requiredDetermine the needs of end users of technical documentationStudy product samples and talk with product designers and developersWork with technical staff to make products easier to use and thus need fewer instructionsOrganize and write supporting documents for productsUse photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users' understandingSelect appropriate medium for message or audience, such as manuals or online videosGather usability feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturersRevise documents as new issues ariseReview materials for clarity, punctuation, grammar, and standardized content; work closely with researchers and developersProvide Technical Writing in support of Life Cycle Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products in the form of Technical Manuals (TM), Training, and Allowance Parts Lists (APL) for government sponsored systemsUse Microsoft Office to develop equipment maintenance and support products.Review materials for clarity, punctuation, grammar, and content; work closely with designers and manufacturerPerform informational research and gathering of vendor spec sheets to be used as Engineering Data for Provisioning (EDFP)Participate in Maintenance Demonstrations and procedure validations of designed equipment Desired Skills/Other ConsiderationsUndergraduates' degree in journalism, communications, business, logistics, English, applied science, mathematics, engineering or other fieldsExperience in reading engineering drawings and/or working with engineering teamsExperience developing procedures and/or other forms of technical documentation such as Technical Manuals, Bills of Materials (BOM's), Associated Parts Lists (APL's), Identifying Support and Test Equipment (S&TE), and detailing PHS&T requirements, etc.Experience or willingness to learn DoD Logistics search engine tools for provisioning (i.e., PUB LOG)Experience relating to Training developmentReliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) NAVSEA Level II Certification and use of MIL-STD-1334 to develop Condition Based Maintenance (CBM)Performance of Level of Repair (LOR) Analysis for newly designs systemsDevelopment of Program Plans such as Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP) or Maintenance Plan (MP)Graphical Illustrating through the use of Adobe suite programs to develop maintainability and supportability productsIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Access and/or Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.Candidates are encouraged to provide relevant and specific experience, skills, or interest in the areas they include.
