Robotic Welding Operators are responsible for the set-up, maintenance, and operation of robotic welding equipment. Robotic Welding Operators are critical to the fabrication of metallic parts or assemblies through welding by the means of a robotic machine. Operators are responsible for operating, maintaining and troubleshooting welding robots.ResponsibilitiesApply principles of basic welding fundamentals, symbols, and blueprintsIdentify and perform correct robotic welding parameters, welding procedures, operations and programsCreate robotic welding programs, modify existing welding programs, and conduct welding cell cycle time calculationsTroubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance of robotic equipment and welding equipmentAssistance in development of the weld quality control process.Be familiar with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, AC motors and variable frequency drivesAssistance in development of the weld quality control process.Be familiar with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, AC motors and variable frequency drivesRequirementsEducation & TrainingHigh school diploma or equivalentCertificate in robotic arc welding, metals fabrication, automated technology, advanced manufacturing, etc. preferred.Essential SkillsStrong analytical thinking, problem solving, and computer skillsKnowledgeable of automation equipment, processes, and systemsInterpret blueprints and drawingsAdapt to technology changes quickly and seamlesslyAble to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materialsMust be able to work in a manufacturing environmentPosition requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individualMust have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
