Position Overview: Job Type: Locum Tenens Specialty: Hospitalist Medicine - Acute Care NP or PA (Nocturnist) Start Date: December 2024 Duration: Ongoing (3-month initial contract with potential for extension) Location: Near Tarpley, Texas Key Responsibilities: Shifts: Night shifts (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.) Work Environment: On-site throughout the entire shift Hospital Type: Various locations with bed capacities ranging from 100-700 Call Coverage: Depending on the site, may involve handling admit calls, cross-covering inpatient census, and providing care to patients during the night Patient Census: Smaller hospitals: 10 admits with cross coverage of 70 inpatient census Larger hospitals: Primarily cross-covering floor/ICU calls and handling 3-4 admissions per shift ICU Rounding: Yes, open ICU involvement Procedures: No procedures or ventilator management required Support: Varies based on the hospital; larger hospitals typically have physicians on-site, while smaller hospitals may have physicians available on-call Orientation: Includes EMR training, and a shadow shift can be arranged if needed Candidate Requirements: Certification: Must be a PA or Acute Care NP Experience: Prior hospitalist experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered at certain sites Competencies: Must be comfortable working independently at night and managing inpatient hospitalist care Credentialing: 12 months of inpatient encounter logs required unless a new graduate Emergency Privileges: Not available Why This Opportunity?
