Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, and excellent customer service abilities. This role is integral to maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and team performance, ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests. The Shift Leader will be responsible for supervising staff, managing inventory, and ensuring smooth shift transitions within a casual dining or quick service setting. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met. Lead and motivate team members, providing training, coaching, and development to enhance performance and customer service skills. Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations. Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling. Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock control, and coordinate with suppliers as needed to maintain optimal inventory. Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed by staff to uphold health standards. Assist in hiring, interviewing, and onboarding new team members to build a strong workforce. Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to ensure guest satisfaction. Support kitchen management with food production, catering, banquet events, or bar service as required. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout the shift. Enforce company policies and procedures related to food safety, hygiene, and workplace conduct. Skills Proven experience in food industry management including restaurant management, hospitality management, or kitchen supervision. Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or team management experience. Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary practices, and food safety standards. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience is essential. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues promptly and professionally. Ability to train staff effectively in food handling, safety protocols, and service standards. Experience in managing inventory control, budgeting, and food production processes. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in casual dining, fine dining, catering, or banquet settings is preferred. Leadership qualities including motivation, communication skills, problem-solving ability, and adaptability.
