SiC Discrete Product Manager

Wolfspeed is looking for a Product Manager who will be responsible for product management and technical marketing our silicon carbide (SiC) power discrete portfolio. Focus for the position is on the global market, existing and future customers, and working with the internal technical and operations organizations in conjunction with inside and outside sales to translate technical requirements to and from the company.General Position DescriptionThis position requires a candidate with the creativity, vision, and detail to breakdown and match customer requirements with internal technical capabilities and find new and innovative ways to solve problems. The right candidate could have a significant impact in the next product platform innovations that are introduced into the market. The position interacts directly with our power customers and internal team, operations personnel, R&D, and commercial sales to deliver the right products to the right customer at the right time.Position ResponsibilitiesDevelop market requirement documents and product requirement documents with prioritized features, corresponding justification, target market applications and business plan supportLead technical presentations with customers and sales on technical issues related to the products and applicationsChampion internal development of new discrete MOSFETs and Diodes to support customer demand and drive qualification of these products at the customerAwareness of market trends and directions from Voice of the Customer and publication reviewBe an expert on competitors’ capabilities and product positioning in the market while understanding the end market uses and requirementsWork with sales on product specifications for special business opportunitiesPortfolio management from market launch through obsolescence of all discretesInterface with R&D, NPI engineering, Production/Operations, and Quality to build and sustain the product linesNew product roadmap understanding and initial product definition, definition of formal product planGeneration and distribution of sales tools, application notes and/or technical guidelinesField and customer training; establish ongoing methodology and processesUnderstand cost models to support product pricing strategiesPosition RequirementsDegree in Electrical Engineering, or similar technical degree7-10 years of semiconductor product management, product marketing and/or applications engineeringGood general knowledge of both the sales and semiconductor product manufacturing processesProven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authorityStrong verbal, written, and presentation communications skills to a broad audience of influencesWillingness to travel, including internationally as necessarySelf-motivated with strong drive to achieve business objectivesAbility to blend the technical and commercial to deliver a balanced approach to problemsStrong analytical skills and experienceHighly Preferred Skills And CertificationsMaster’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar technical degreeKnowledge of wide bandgap semiconductorsSystem level power electronics knowledgeExperience supporting customers, direct sales and distribution sales partnersExperience with new product launch and new business developmentUnderstanding and implementation of multiple marketing tools and approachesUnderstanding of basic semiconductor device technology and assemblyWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
