Alpha Engineering has an opening for an engineer or engineer tech with underground experience for full time employment. If you are tired of the mine-site routine and want more time with family, read on. This position is located at our Beckley, WV, office. The successful candidate should be fluent in the usual Microsoft Office software (WORD, Excel) and AutoCAD along with SurvCAD. Familiarity and competence in other software packages is a plus. There is a mix of field work (underground in mines taking vent readings, time studies, gathering data) and surface (time studies, field examinations, GPS and GIS work). Having underground experience and certifications and training is a definite plus although we will train an exceptional candidate. Responsibilities - Utilize CAD software to design and plan mining operations. - Conduct data analysis using relevant software to optimize mining processes. - Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules and ensure timely completion. - Apply engineering principles to troubleshoot and improve mining equipment. - Utilize 3D scanning technology for site assessment and data collection. - Research and implement innovative technologies to enhance mining efficiency. Qualifications - Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field a plus - Proficiency in CAD software for designing mining structures and mapping - Experience with project scheduling and root cause analysis - Knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word - Strong analytical skills for data analysis and problem-solving - Ability to work with GIS and GPS technology - Familiarity with engineering principles and processes Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $60,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Schedule: Monday to Friday Education: High school or equivalent (Required) Experience: mining: 1 year (Preferred) Language: English (Required) Work Location: In person
