Successful candidates will be committed to a continuing program of personal and professional growth and the ability to work effectively with people with dynamic backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.Job Summary: Under the direction of the Building Administrator and Special Education Teacher, will assist with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs or are medically fragile. Paraeducators assist students with the unique needs outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEP). This vital role involves providing direct support to students, helping them access their education through academic support, behavior management, and fostering independence. While you may work one-on-one with a student or within small groups, it is important to note that assignments are not fixed to specific students. Staff members are assigned based on current needs and teacher discretion, which allows us to adapt and reassign support to maximize effectiveness for all students. This position requires effective collaboration with other staff to implement necessary accommodations and strategies that promote student success. Please refer to attached job description for specific responsibilities.Students Served: Students with reading, writing, math, self-regulation and/or social goals who are on an academic track and do not require specialized life skills instruction or intensive behavior support.Special Duties/Responsiblities: Duties include recess and lunch supervision as well as student supervision during arrival and dismissal.Salary Range: $26.43 - $30.09 Paraeducator A per 2025-26 Public School Employees Salary ScheduleAbove pay rates do not include holiday and pay in lieu of vacation, which increases the hourly compensation.Work Schedule:Start Date: April 13, 2026Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.Paid Hours: 6.75 hours per dayLunch Break: 30 minutes unpaid breakCalendar: 9 months/year; enjoy time off during spring break, winter break and summer, plus 10 paid holidaysQualifications:Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent and meet one (1) of the following:Have received a score of 455 on the ETS ParaPro (https://www.ets.org/parapro),or a qualifying score on the Pearson Paraprofessional assessment or Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Training Program;Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; orHave earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university.Upon hire, must complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS)-Paraeducator Certificate.Ability to meet the qualifications as listed on the job description for this position.Benefits: For eligible positions, the district offers a competitive benefits package including Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB), a Washington state retirement package, and paid time off.
