This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to safely operate pressing and finishing equipment in a fast-paced environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate dry cleaning press machines, steam equipment, and finishing tools safely and efficientlyPress and finish garments including shirts, pants, dresses, suits, uniforms, linens, and specialty fabricsInspect garments before and after pressing for stains, damage, missing buttons, or repair needsFollow garment care labels and company quality standardsMaintain proper handling procedures to avoid garment damage or shrinkageOrganize completed garments for packaging and customer pickupAssist with tagging, sorting, and staging garments as neededKeep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with safety standardsReport equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns to managementMeet daily productivity and quality expectationsWork cooperatively with team members and management to support production goalsQualificationsPrevious dry cleaning, laundry, pressing, tailoring, or garment finishing experience preferred but not requiredAbility to learn pressing techniques and garment care proceduresStrong attention to detail and quality controlAbility to work in a fast-paced production environmentDependable attendance and punctuality requiredAbility to communicate professionally with coworkers and supervisorsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods of timeFrequent use of hands, arms, and repetitive motionsAbility to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds regularlyAbility to tolerate heat, steam, and humidity in production areasAbility to bend, reach, and move throughout the work area safelyWork EnvironmentIndoor dry cleaning and garment production facilityExposure to steam, heat, cleaning agents, and pressing equipmentFast-paced production environment with daily deadlinesEqual Employment Opportunity StatementPorters of Louisiana, LLC. is an equal opportunity employer and considers all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected classification under applicable federal, state, or local law.
