Accounting Manager

Position Summary The Accounting Manager (CPA) will oversee accounting operations and financial reporting within an asset-based lending environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial statements, supporting borrowing base reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls over collateral and loan-related accounting. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with an understanding of lending structures, collateral monitoring, and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end close. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Oversee borrowing base certificate preparation and ensure accuracy of collateral reporting (accounts receivable, inventory, and other eligible assets). Partner with lending institutions to support audits, field exams, and compliance reporting. Ensure adherence to loan agreements, covenants, and reporting requirements. Monitor and analyze AR aging, inventory valuation, reserves, and eligibility criteria for collateral. Develop and maintain internal controls in alignment with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (if applicable). Lead external audits and coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and lenders. Provide financial analysis, variance reporting, and insights to support strategic decisions. Supervise and mentor accounting staff; drive process improvements and system efficiencies. Support cash flow forecasting and liquidity management in coordination with finance leadership. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Active CPA license required Experience: 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within asset-based lending, commercial finance, or a borrower utilizing ABL facilities Experience with borrowing base reporting and lender audits/field exams strongly preferred Knowledge & Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Deep understanding of collateral structures (AR, inventory, in-transit, etc.) Experience with loan covenant compliance and financial modeling Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external lenders Certifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – required Working Conditions Office-based or hybrid environment Occasional extended hours during month-end, audits, or lender reporting cycles Why Join Us Exposure to complex financing structures and strategic financial operations Opportunity to partner directly with lenders and executive leadership Competitive compensation, benefits, and career growth opportunities
