USA - Formulation Scientist

Overview In this role you will drive product design and development for the brand, collaborating with R&D, Supply Chain and Marketing to bring innovations and improvements to market. You will design and test prototypes, manage specifications in SAP PLM, and troubleshoot formulation challenges. You’ll contribute to cross-functional projects that enhance quality, feasibility, and margins, shaping the product portfolio. This position offers meaningful impact on platform development and scale-up in a collaborative, technically focused environment. ResponsibilitiesExecute R&D activities to support the brand program, including innovation, renovation, quality improvement and margin enhancement.Collaborate as part of a cross-functional project team to deliver on-time, full projects.Independently design products from briefs and develop/test protocols for prototypes, scale-up, shelf-life and analytical testing.Lead SAP PLM specification/label creation from request to approval; act as the material expert for new ingredient specifications.Provide technical and product guidance; participate in R&D discussions in Supply Chain and Marketing meetings.Assess feasibility of new ideas and troubleshoot formulation-related issues as needed.Support investigations using root-cause analysis for existing and new products.Develop and maintain relationships with R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, customers and key stakeholders. Key requirementsBachelor of Science in Food Science or equivalent2-5 years in the food industry, preferably in product developmentAbility to execute tasks and projects with low-moderate complexity independentlyAbility to plan, conduct and coordinate prototype development across multiple projectsWorking knowledge of ingredients, formulation, process and product design principlesWorking knowledge of specification creation/approval and costingAbility to analyze and interpret data with guidance for final conclusionsWorking knowledge of experimental design, root cause analysis and problem-solvingGood understanding of Supply ChainStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to construct trial/lab reports and presentations; present to technical/non-technical audiencesStrong verbal and written communicationCross-functional collaborationAnalytical and problem-solving mindsetSAP PLM specification/label managementPrototype development and scale-upShelf-life testing and analytical testing
