Psychiatric Mental Health TechnicianSouthridge Behavioral Hospital is a beautiful and new state-of-the-art facility. As a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we serve up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units. We are seeking high caliber applicants that will provide innovative and evidence-based care focused on our patient's individual needs, comfort and safety.Position Description: Psychiatric Mental Health Technicians carry out the daily routines of patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Shift Supervisor. This includes:Assisting in the ongoing assessment of the safety and emotional needs of each patient.Demonstrating awareness of the key elements of the treatment plans for all assigned patients and provides intervention/care accordingly on an individualized basis.Assisting patients with their personal grooming, activities of daily living, and personal hygiene, appropriate to the patient's age, developmental level and needs.Participating in assigned groups and activities to meet the needs of various patient populations.Demonstrating the ability to maintain therapeutic and professional rapport with patients.Participating with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.Provides verbal de-escalation techniques and physical management, as needed.Making rounds on patients, including documenting every 15 minutes or sooner to provide patient safety.Assisting the RN with patient admissions and discharges.
