Job Description Job Title: Test Engineer P&C 1 / P&C Tech 1Date Posted: 5/19/26 Location: Birmingham, AL 35203Job Type: Contract Full-TimeImmediate W2 contract position available in Birmingham, AL.Estimated Duration: 1.5 yearsP&C Tech 1:This job assignment will be in the Protection & Control (P&C) Field Services Substation Integration & Automation (SIA) group.The P&C Technician position requires 2-5 years of related experience and an associate's degree or technical certification in electrical or related fields.Test Engineer P&C 1:This job assignment will be in the Protection & Control (P&C) Field Services Substation Integration & Automation (SIA) group.The Test Engineer P&C 1 position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering.Job responsibilities include:Commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting substation integration and SCADA equipmentPlanning, and completing projects safely, efficiently, accurately and on schedule.This position is primarily on site and in the field.Desired qualifications include:Experience commissioning and testing substation SCADA equipmentExperience or training in microprocessor (IED) technologyExperience or training in serial and ethernet network communicationsExperience performing power system calculations and measurementsExperience with substation relay protection and control equipmentExperience with industrial control systems (PLCs, generation plant controls, industrial plant controls)Experience with basic AC & DC electrical systemsDesired skills & abilities:Knowledge of safe work practices in substation or industrial environmentsKnowledge of control schemes and SCADA system operationKnowledge of serial and ethernet communication software and protocolsKnowledge of 3-phase power calculations and measurementsAbility to use a computer to communicate with other microprocessor devicesAbility to use spreadsheets and other computer productivity toolsAbility to use a multimeter and hand tools in an electrical environmentAbility to work with others as a team memberTroubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Company DescriptionWe provide supplemental employees to the region's most sought after power projects.
