Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in critical care nursing, with the ability to provide exceptional patient care to individuals recovering from cardiac surgery or other serious cardiovascular conditions. This role requires a compassionate approach, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the CVICU, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Perform diagnostic evaluations and assist with procedures as needed. Administer injections and manage intravenous (IV) therapy for patients. Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health systems, including Athenahealth. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, medication management, and lifestyle modifications. Assist in phlebotomy procedures and ensure proper specimen collection for laboratory testing. Support pediatric patients as needed, demonstrating experience with children in a clinical setting. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols within the ICU environment. Skills Strong knowledge of ICU protocols and best practices. Proficiency in diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to cardiovascular care. Experience administering injections safely and effectively. Familiarity with ambulatory surgery center operations is a plus. Competence in sonography techniques is advantageous. Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining excellent communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in patient documentation and care processes. Capacity to handle high-stress situations while providing compassionate patient care.
