Owner's Representative Safety ManagerLocation: Zebulon, NCDuration: 1-2 years (Start: Immediate Need)Type: 1099 Contractor | Opportunity for Full-time W2Job DetailsPosition DetailsCompensation:$63/HR (1099 Contractor)OR $140K-$150K Salary (Full-Time W2 Opportunity)Per Diem: None ProvidedCompletion Bonus: $150/MonthPay Frequency: WeeklySchedule: Monday-Friday 8-10 Hour Days 40-50 Hours Per Week Weekends as Needed Project ScopeThe Owner's Representative Safety Manager will serve as the on-site safety authority representing ownership across multiple active construction and infrastructure projects. This role will oversee contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and client-specific safety standards.Projects include architectural facility renovations, equipment upgrades and replacements, boilers, HVAC systems, plant air, water, waste systems, mechanical installations, and electrical infrastructure improvements.The facility maintains approximately 5-10 active construction projects at any given time, with an additional 10-15 projects in planning and design phases. Project scopes range from minor facility modifications to major infrastructure and production equipment additionsQualificationsMust have: Bachelor's degree in Safety or related field10+ years of construction safety experience within commercial, industrial, or large-scale project environmentsPrevious Owner's Representative construction safety experienceOSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach certificationPreferred Certifications:BCSP: CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) OR CSP (Certified Safety Professional) Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the owner's on-site safety representative, ensuring all contractors meet client safety expectationsConduct project safety inspections, audits, and field observations with a strong visible presenceMonitor and enforce OSHA compliance and client-specific safety standardsReview and validate AHAs/JHAs, permits, and high-risk work activitiesUpload and manage safety documentation within Procore and client reporting systemsPrepare and submit daily safety reports, metrics, and observations to ownershipTrack workforce safety compliance, trends, and leading indicatorsMaintain safety logs, incident records, and compliance documentationLead and support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actionsEnforce fall protection standards (CRITICAL priority) and monitor other high-risk scopesProvide safety training, coaching, and mentorship to contractor teamsMonitor jobsite activities and proactively address unsafe behaviors and conditionsReview contractor safety documentation and manage safety-related correspondenceParticipate in coordination meetings and provide safety leadership insights to stakeholdersSupport and help develop, implement, and continuously improve the site safety programSkills & KnowledgeSkills:Excellent communication and high-level stakeholder engagement abilitiesStrong public speaking skills with the ability to influence field and leadership teamsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and digital safety platforms (Procore preferred)Strong organizational, reporting, and multitasking capabilitiesAbility to work independently while maintaining alignment with ownership objectivesProfessionalism and discretion when handling sensitive project informationKnowledge:Deep understanding of EHS principles, OSHA regulations, and construction safety standardsExperience with high-risk construction activities including fall protection, electrical safety (NFPA 70E), LOTO, cranes/rigging, and excavationAbility to interpret and enforce client-specific safety programs and expectationsUnderstanding of data center construction environments and fast-paced project demandsEqual Opportunity EmployerSheakley is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all individuals, regardless of race, color, religion, age, sex, marital status, national origin, disability, or any other protected status.Ready to Make an Impact?
