This organisation is at the forefront of modernising critical public sector operations by leveraging cutting-edge data and cloud technologies.The Role Serve as a key personnel Databricks Data Engineer and instructor, delivering a customised training program to FEMA-OEHP staff. Collaborate with stakeholders to finalise curriculum, project goals, and integration requirements during a pre-planning phase. Develop and administer skills assessments to tailor tutoring and curriculum depth to individual needs. Deliver weekly virtual training curriculum mapped to project milestones, utilising DHS/EHP datasets and real-world data. Provide 1-on-1 tutoring sessions and lead weekly seminars with lectures and hands-on labs. Guide participants through project-based learning to build data pipelines, predictive models, and agentic tools, integrating Databricks with various platforms.What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field with deep expertise in Databricks and technical training experience (12+ years or commensurate). Deep, hands-on expertise in Databricks, including SQL/PySpark notebooks, Jobs/Workflows, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and MLflow. Experience with vector search implementation and data pipeline construction, orchestration, and integration (e.g., Data Factory). Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform: Power Apps (canvas), Power Automate (cloud and desktop), and Power Fx. Strong skills in SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions), Python, regular expressions, and Git.
