Instructional Tutor (2026-2027) - Brooks Elementary
Join us for the 2026-2027 school year! Brooks Elementary School is seeking a highly qualified instructional tutor to provide reading and math interventions to our struggling students. The successful candidate must:Assist in the implementation of education programs by providing comprehensive assessments, evaluations and instruction to meet the needs of children.Believe that all students can learnBelieve in supporting the needs of the whole child Knowledgeable of KY Academic Standards in all content areas at all grade levels, K-5Knowledgeable of and able to implement best instructional practices used at Old MillAble to partner with the instructional coach, certified classroom teachers, a second instructional tutor, and other classified instructional assistants in a collaborative setting to support the learning of struggling studentsSelf-initiating Able to instruct and work independently without direct supervisionPositiveFlexiblePatientTeam workerRegular in attendance and punctualGood with details and record keepingOrganizedSupportive of the total school program Position Details Hours: 6 hours per day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch) Contract Length: 183 days per year 170 student instructional days4 holidays7 planning days2 extended days Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date Employment Status: Full-time with benefits Employment Type: 10-month employee on the classified pay schedule Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Must have at least 64 college credits and a 2.5 GPA.Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire. Compensation & Experience Credit 2026-2027 Pay ScaleStarting Pay (Step 0): $24.63/hourExperienced Pay (Step 10): $26.97/hour We value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired. New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR. Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June. Salary Formula: Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary.
