Working for ECHO means joining a team of people who are committed to collaboration, innovation, creativity, and high-quality products that make us a globally competitive brand.ECHO is hiring Automation Summer Student Interns to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while supporting Automation and Maintenance teams with basic equipment troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and assembly line operations. This position will run from May 2026 through August 2026. Hours are M-F 8am – 4pm at our Lake Zurich facility. This position is paying $17- $20/HR based on experience and qualifications.Primary Responsibilities:The Summer Student – Automation will support the Automation and Maintenance teams by gaining hands-on exposure to manufacturing equipment and processes. Duties will include, but are not limited to:Shadow Automation Technicians to observe daily operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. Develop an understanding of assembly line workflow, production processes, and line changeovers across multiple lines. Learn and apply basic hand tools and assist with preventative maintenance on assembly line equipment. Assist with troubleshooting assembly line equipment and conveyor systems under guidance of Automation or Maintenance staff. Gradually support responses to service and repair requests, including basic troubleshooting. Assist with Central Palletizer preventative maintenance (PM) and minor repairs. Support maintenance and upkeep of wrapping machines. Participate in cross-training with Maintenance and share responsibilities as appropriate. Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and a proactive “Can-Do” attitude in all assigned tasks. Desired Qualifications:Must be 16 years of age or older and currently enrolled in high school or college.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.Interest in automation, manufacturing, maintenance, or technical trades preferred.Willingness to learn in a hands-on industrial environment.Equal Opportunity Employment:We are an equal opportunity employer.
