Histology Technologist Lab, Per Diem, Day Shifts (Hiring Immediately)

Job Summary Performs all routine and special technical procedures. To judge the adequacy of a submitted specimen and to request another specimen if the original is unsatisfactory. To notify the pathologists or laboratory director when the workload demands additional personnel. To supervise the work performance in the section when acting as the technologist in charge. To supervise trainees in bench work activities for the section. To assist in meeting the requirements set forth by inspection agencies. Works with the laboratory staff, nursing staff, medical staff, visitors, and patients in a professional manner. Works with manufacturer and sales representatives in a professional manner. Conducts all contacts in a friendly, courteous, helpful, and considerate manner designed to provide good customer service. Answers the telephone in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and aids as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations of the internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify areas of concern and to recommend appropriate solutions. Required Knowledge & Skills One year of technical experience, preferred Good verbal and written communication skills, required Basic computer skills, required Education/Experience/Licensure/Technical/Other Education: High School or GED required License/Certification Current Technologist license in Histology (or eligible), required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association What Should I Know About Hialeah Hospital?
