We arm our clients with actionable consumer, competitive, and market insights that drive better investment and strategic decisions.Role summaryThe Senior Data Analyst at CE will be responsible for analyzing, cleaning, building, and supporting scalable data products built on our large, alternative datasets. The ideal candidate is a quick study who can grok complex topics without much handholding. Creative and innately curious, they will chase down promising lines of analysis and dig into unexpected results, while always keeping the big picture goals in mind.Your main responsibilitiesAnalyze a diverse array of large alternative datasets for insights and signalClean and add structure to semi-structured and unstructured dataDevelop and apply data normalization and penalization methods to correct for inherent biases in each datasetCombine multiple datasets into predictive modelsDesign and build scalable data products in concert with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Product Managers, and Financial AnalystsDevelop creative and intuitive ways to visually present data insights to clientsYou will be successful in this role if you have:Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracyExpert in using SQL to analyze and organize multiple large datasetsExperience with data modeling and statistical backtestingExperience with data visualization toolsExcellent written and verbal communication skills – able to readily translate between technical and non-technical audiencesInterest in consumer and retail behavior across the globeAbility to juggle multiple, rapidly evolving projectsKnowledge of Python or other programming languages a plusExperience with alternative data is a plusExperience with DBT is a plusYou will be successful at CE if you have:A detail-oriented mindsetAbility to balance multiple priorities at once.An internal sense of urgency and ability to meet strict deadlines.Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.Benefits & perksWe are a remote-first company with a distributed environment and flexible working arrangements. We also have an office in New York if offices are your thing.SalaryThe annual base salary for this role is between $110,000 - $165,000 based on experience, with the opportunity for a performance-based bonus, company equity, 401(k) matching, paid parental leave, flexible and generous time off, work-from-home flexibility, and subsidized health benefits.
