We combine local responsiveness with enterprise-scale logistics, supporting time-sensitive, high-volume operations.The Role:We’re seeking a COO to lead and scale our fast-paced logistics operations. This role is for a strategic, hands-on leader who thrives under pressure, drives operational consistency, and builds a high-performing, aligned team.This role is responsible for strong financial performance, scalable processes across all business units, including operations, human resources, safety, customer service, and support functions.As COO, you will:Standardize operations, SOPs, and communication protocols to ensure repeatable, reliable performance.Own operational KPIs, P&L, and financial performance.Align and coach leadership teams for accountability and one-team execution.Build data-driven performance tracking and continuous improvement systems.Lead capacity planning, recovery workflows, and high-volume, time-sensitive logistics operations.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Organizational LeadershipPartner with the CEO to define organizational strategy, long-term objectives, and annual operating plans.Provide executive leadership across all core functions, including operations, HR, finance, IT, sales operations, and administrative teams.Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure consistent delivery of service, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.Build and reinforce a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.Serve as executive sponsor for organizational change initiatives and process standardization efforts.Operations ManagementOversee all logistics operations, including freight brokerage, transportation management, and value-added services.Implement and standardize operational best practices to improve efficiency and service quality.Lead capacity planning, resource allocation, and scalability initiatives to support business growth.Financial & Performance ManagementManage the operational P&L, ensuring revenue growth, margin optimization, and cost-efficient operations.Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.Identify and execute opportunities for operational and financial performance improvement.Human Resources & People LeadershipProvide executive oversight for talent acquisition, retention, performance management, training, and succession planning.Ensure HR policies, compensation structures, and employee engagement initiatives align with business strategy.Develop leadership capabilities across the organization and mentor senior leaders and direct reports.Key KPI Targets & MetricsOperational PerformanceOn-time pickup percentageOn-time delivery percentageShipment tracking and milestone compliance.Shipment accuracyTrailer dwell timeCarrier performance metrics (acceptance rate, service level, cost per mile)Financial PerformanceOperating cost per shipmentRevenue per employeeOperating marginCustomer & Quality MetricsCustomer satisfaction scoresClaims ratio and service failure rateContract SLA adherence.People & HR MetricsEmployee turnover and retention ratesTime-to-fill for critical roles.Employee engagement scoresTraining completion and compliance metricsQualifications10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or related operational environments.Experience within mid- to large-scale 3PL operations strongly preferred.Demonstrated success managing P&L responsibilities and driving overall business performance.Proven ability to improve operational efficiency through process optimization and effective use of technology.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational development skills, with experience building and leading high-performing teams.Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.Benefits:401(k)Health insuranceVision insuranceWork Location: In person
