Cashier - Lake Nighthorse - SeasonalWe're hiring seasonal Cashiers to support daily operations at Lake Nighthorse. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, staying active, and helping create a welcoming and safe experience for visitors enjoying the lake, swim beach, and recreation amenities. As part of the Lake Nighthorse team, you'll assist guests at the entrance station and swim beach, support recreation operations, handle admissions and registrations, and help keep facilities clean and running smoothly. As a member of our team, your work will be meaningful because:Your ideas help shape citywide improvements.The work you do ties directly into measurable goals.You'll be part of a system that values collaboration, innovation, and results.We're looking for team members who share our core values of teamwork, dependability, professionalism, service, respect, innovation, and wellbeing — and who are excited to make a difference in the community we serve.What You'll Do in This Role:Welcome visitors and provide friendly, helpful customer service in person and by phone.Process admissions, recreation registrations, concessions sales, and daily transactions using point-of-sale software.Provide information about Lake Nighthorse amenities, programs, directions, and lake rules.Assist visitors at the swim beach with Wibit admissions, personal flotation device (PFD) fitting, and general recreation support.Support daily opening and closing procedures for recreation facilities.Track visitor use, maintain records, and assist with basic clerical and data entry tasks.Help maintain clean and organized public spaces, including the entrance station, swim beach, restrooms, parking areas, and surrounding grounds.Assist with light landscaping, trash removal, and general upkeep of park facilities.Support recreation area operations by helping monitor safety, parking, and public areas.Assist with supply inventories and restocking materials as needed.Adapt to changing conditions, busy visitation periods, and outdoor weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.You Have:Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license.Customer service or clerical experience, including cash handling experience.You Will Succeed in This Role If You:Enjoy working with people and creating positive guest experiences.Can communicate clearly and professionally with a wide variety of visitors.Are comfortable multitasking and staying organized in a fast-paced environment.Work well independently while also contributing to a team environment.Are dependable, adaptable, and willing to assist with a variety of recreation and facility support tasks.Enjoy a mix of indoor and outdoor work in a recreation setting.What We Can Offer You: The following perks are available for part-time and seasonal employees.Free pass to the Durango Community Recreation Center and Chapman Hill Ice Rink and Ski AreaFree Transit passEligibility to participate in the City's Annual Wellness Challenge and a chance to receive prizes and cash rewardsWe believe in creating an inclusive workforce that welcomes diversity of thoughts, viewpoints, and experiences.
