This role applies expert-level electrical, plumbing, and mechanical knowledge to diagnose complex equipment issues, implement system improvements, and ensure accurate tracking within maintenance systems. The Technician IV serves as a senior technical resource, supports cross-functional projects, and contributes to operational excellence through leadership, problem-solving, and process optimization.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Lead and execute advanced planned maintenance (PMs) – ~35%Diagnose and resolve complex unplanned maintenance issues – ~25%Support and optimize chemical wastewater treatment systems – ~40%Core Responsibilities:Serve as a technical lead for facility maintenance activities and troubleshooting effortsPerform advanced diagnostics on electrical, mechanical, and fluid systemsLead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actionsOversee and optimize pump rebuilds, system performance, and reliability improvementsEnsure accurate documentation and reporting within maintenance software (e.g., Limble)Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to Facilities Technicians I–IIIDevelop and improve preventive maintenance strategies and schedulesSupport facility improvement projects, including equipment upgrades and installationsCreate and review technical drawings, schematics, and CAD layoutsEnsure strict adherence to safety protocols, including LOTO and hazardous material handlingCoordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders as neededOther Duties:Off-site travel (e.g., suppliers, machine shops, emergency part sourcing)Lead or assist in capital improvement and reliability projectsParticipate in audits, inspections, and compliance initiativesDrive continuous improvement initiatives related to uptime, cost, and safetySupport chemical wastewater treatment system optimization and compliance reportingKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:5+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or facilities maintenanceStrong expertise in industrial electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systemsAdvanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsExperience leading maintenance tasks or small teams/projectsProficiency with maintenance tracking systems (e.g., Limble) and data analysisStrong understanding of chemical wastewater treatment processesAbility to read and develop technical drawings and CAD schematicsDeep knowledge of LOTO procedures and safety compliance requirementsStrong critical thinking, leadership, and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in hazardous, high-temperature, or cleanroom environmentsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Educational/Certification Requirements:High School Diploma (minimum)Associate degree (preferred) in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or related fieldTrade certifications or licenses (highly preferred)Additional certifications in safety, electrical systems, or wastewater treatment (preferred)Work Experience Preferred:5+ years in industrial or facilities maintenance3+ years working with chemical wastewater treatment systemsExperience as a senior technician, lead, or specialist roleDemonstrated experience in equipment reliability or maintenance program developmentBackground in electrical, plumbing, welding, machining, or HVAC systemsPhysical Demands and Working Conditions:Work Environment:Cleanroom and industrial facility settingExposure to hazardous materials and chemicalsPhysical Demands:Ability to kneel, reach, climb, walk, push, pull, and graspStand for extended periodsLift 50+ lbs regularly, occasionally moreWork in hot, cold, and confined environmentsHandle and work around chemicals such as arsenic and aluminum dustWear required personal protective equipment (PPE)Environmental Exposure:Moderate noise levelsFrequent interruptionsStrict adherence to safety and PPE requirementsAdditional Notes:This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
