Job Description
FS8 is a modern workout blending Pilates, yoga, and strength training in a supportive, high-energy environment. We're passionate about helping members feel strong, confident, and connected through movement and community.As the Head Trainer, you'll set the standard for coaching excellence, lead by example in-session, mentor a team of instructors and help shape the in-studio training experience. You'll be instrumental in upholding FS8's programming integrity, community vibe and coaching quality.Core Responsibilities:Deliver FS8 Sessions: Coach high-energy, technically sound FS8 classes including Pilates, Tone, and Yoga components (approximately 15 classes per week)Class Utilization: Work with the Studio Manager to monitor and improve class attendance, optimize scheduling, and drive high class utilization.Coach Development: Train, mentor, and evaluate instructors to maintain consistency, safety, and performance standards. May be required to attend a 3-day training at FS8 headquarters in Austin, TX. Responsible for onboarding new team members and providing quarterly team training to staffProgramming Execution: Ensure workouts are delivered according to FS8 guidelines and programming cycles; give feedback to improve class qualityMember Experience: Foster relationships with members, deliver an exceptional in-studio experience, and support retention through engagement and motivationSupport Studio Manager: Assist with scheduling, class coverage, onboarding new coaches, and participating in team meetings and eventsQuality Control: Provide regular in-class observations and feedback sessions for team developmentStudio Culture: Promote an inclusive, empowering, and energetic environment that reflects FS8 brand valuesQualifications:Certification in Pilates, Yoga, Personal Training or Group Fitness (required)2+ years of coaching experience in a group fitness or boutique studio environmentConfidence coaching with a mic and managing a class of varying skill levelsPassion for movement, community-building, and coach developmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a team-first mindsetFamiliarity with fitness studio systems (e.g., MindBody or similar) Experience managing, mentoring, or leading other trainers to maintain quality and team cohesionSchedule Requirements:Must be available for a mix of early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekendsFlexible to coach multiple formats and fill in when neededBenefits & Culture:Competitive pay structure + incentivesComplimentary FS8 membershipFlexible schedule Opportunities for career growth within FS8 including area coaching/leadership rolesSupportive team culture that values hustle, heart, and quality coaching
