Facility Maintenance Assistant
Reports to: Facility Maintenance Manager
Position Description:
Provides for the general maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment at Taurus Control and Taurus Engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
Follow instructions from Facility Maintenance Supervisor in assisting in the daily maintenance tasks at a service and manufacturing facility. Tasks include but are not limited to, limited to, electrical, plumbing, flooring and paint as instructed. Fixing plumbing leaks, and performing scheduled maintenance on equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical issues in machinery, production equipment, and company vehicles.
Maintains a clean and safe work area; always observes and promotes safe work practices and procedures; Follows local, state, and OSHA regulations
Uses and wears safety and/or protective equipment, as appropriate
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect all employees, equipment, materials, and facilities
Reports all accidents and/or potential hazards to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance manager immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible
Operate a forklift, when needed, in completing maintenance tasks.
Supervision Responsibilities:
None
Organizational Responsibilities:
Receives direction from the Facility Maintenance Manager or Facility Maintenance Supervisor.
Interact with other team members from various departments
Respond to requests for repairs and requests from other departments as directed by the Facility Maintenance Supervisor or Facility Maintenance Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
Proficient reading, writing, math, and mechanical reasoning skills.
Ability to work safely with power tools and hand tools
Ability to manage time efficiently
Lift 50 lbs.
Climb up and down a ladder
Work in inclement weather
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to read a tape measure,
Basic electricity, carpentry, and plumbing knowledge.
Ability to use various hand tools safely.
Travel:
No regular travel is expected.
Computer Skills:
Basic skills required.
Safety and Housekeeping
Adhere to the company’s safety and housekeeping standards and procedures.
Continuously required to stand
Regularly required to sit and walk
Frequently be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
