Production Planner (Aerospace Background)

We are looking to hire a Production Planner in the city of Santa Fe Springs, CA This is a Contract to Hire opportunity to join our Production department! Pay: $26.00- 30.00/hour Schedule: 5am-1:30pm (Flexible with OT & Weekends) Job Description: Position Summary: Reporting to the Vice President/Operations Manager, the Production Planner ensures throughput targets are achieved in a safe, timely, quality, cost efficient and productive manner. Responsibility for achievement of high quality, low cost, safety and on-time performance goals and development of advanced methods and techniques to increase productivity. This is a very fast paced environment. Plan all jobs in a timely manner Allocate material to all jobs Maintain a current raw material inventory list Maintain a current REM inventory list Effectively collaborate with manufacturing and quality departments. Ensure all production data is gathered and reported correctly daily. Stay up to date of Aerospace Specifications Support and improve upon quality initiatives designed to meet plant goals Continuously improve by reducing waste through lean activities. Coordinate with all outside service providers to ensure production schedules and targets are met. Create and receive on outside processing purchase orders Quality Systems support, implementation, and reviews Other duties as assigned. Required Skills: Must demonstrate knowledge of sound business practices. Attention to detail and an attitude of 100% compliance with all company and regulatory requirements. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Sage (MAS) experience a plus. Proficient use of Auto Cad, Auto Desk. Demonstrated ability to develop, relentlessly execute and deliver results in conformance with action plans. Proven analytical, problem solving, and process improvement ability. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities. Experience & Education Engineering Degree is a plus Previous, relevant, work experience in Aluminum Forging environment is highly preferred. Knowledge of Aerospace Specifications Physical Demands While performing normal duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
