SQL Data QA Analyst

12-Month Contract as a W2 employee | Up to $38/hr | Remote from approved locations within the United States.ScheduleMonday–Friday10 AM–7 PM Pacific TimeOne-hour unpaid lunchTraining is expected to be 8 AM–5 PM Pacific Time for approximately 3–4 weeksOccasional later hours or weekends may be needed depending on workloadEquipment providedTarget start date: October 5, 2026We’re looking for a SQL Data QA Analyst to join a collaborative team responsible for making sure data is accurate, complete, and meets business requirements.This role is a great fit for someone with experience in SQL, database testing, data validation, or data quality who enjoys finding problems, investigating what went wrong, and making sure the data is right before it reaches the customer.What You’ll DoUse SQL/T-SQL to test and validate data.Review large data sets and identify errors or inconsistencies.Write SQL queries to confirm data is accurate and working as expected.Test data imports, updates, extracts, and transformations.Review stored procedures and other database logic.Create and execute test cases based on business requirements.Identify, document, and help troubleshoot data issues.Work closely with data engineers, business analysts, and QA team members to resolve problems.Use Excel and SQL Server regularly to analyze and validate data.Communicate progress, issues, and priorities clearly with the team.Follow established processes and maintain accurate documentation of your work.What We’re Looking For2+ years of experience with database testing, data QA, data analysis, or a related area.Strong hands-on SQL/T-SQL experience.Comfortable writing complex SQL queries and understanding existing SQL logic.Experience testing or validating data rather than simply running reports.Familiarity with stored procedures, joins, subqueries, CTEs, views, and temporary tables.Understanding of relational databases and basic ETL/data transformation concepts.Strong attention to detail.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working in a fast-paced environment.Strong Excel skills.A Typical DayYou might start the day reviewing a data request, writing SQL queries to test the results, and comparing thousands or even millions of records for accuracy.You may then work with a developer or business analyst to investigate an issue, create test cases for a fix, and retest the data once the problem has been resolved.The team works closely together throughout the day, so communication, accountability, and teamwork are just as important as your technical skills.
