Job Description Job Opening - SuperintendentPosition Status: Full Time in Altoona, Iowa.Supervise & Self- PerformRegular Work Hours: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Accountable to: Project Manager & OperationsAccountable for: Subcontractors, Carpenters & LaborersOverview Of ResponsibilitiesManaging, scheduling and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers.Prepare overall job schedules and 3 week look ahead schedules and be able to meet or exceed those schedules.Actively seek new ways to improve efficiency and streamline processes.Produce work in the time frames set forth by owners and project managers.Use diplomacy and tact when dealing with owners, architects and engineers.Solve challenges and onsite issues with help from design team.Complete carpentry and self-perform work when needed.Follow all local, state and OSHA safety rules and regulations mandated.Follow all procedures set forth by HCI handbook.Able to communicate with owners and architects.SkillsGood written and verbal communication skillsProficient in reading and understanding drawings and specificationsProven past experienceSupervising & leadership skillsGood computer skillsQualifications/ Experience3 years of experience working as a construction superintendent on projects from start to finish3 years working under a general contractor.3 years of experience working in commercial constructionCharacteristicsNeatThoroughReliableDedicatedAccurateOrganizedSelf-motivated/driven personProblem solverDecision-makerGood communicator.Company DescriptionHarmon Construction has been providing Construction Management, Design-Build and General Contracting services to a variety of clients for 36 years.
