Sterile Processing Technologist

You will be responsible for preparing, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and medical equipment, supporting healthcare professionals with reliable tools essential for life-saving procedures.
*Duties*
* Assemble, inspect, and package sterile processing medical instruments with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
* Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and endoscope reprocessors to ensure all devices meet strict sterilization standards.
* Manage inventory by tracking supplies, ordering replacements, and organizing storage areas to maintain optimal stock levels.
* Perform decontamination procedures on surgical instruments and medical equipment following infection prevention management protocols.
* Reprocess endoscopes and other complex medical devices, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
* Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance documentation to support infection control efforts.
* Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure all instruments are correctly prepared for upcoming procedures while adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control policies.
*Requirements*
* Proven experience in sterile processing, including medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization techniques.
* Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures and instrument handling.
* Familiarity with infection prevention management practices, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
* Ability to operate specialized medical equipment such as autoclaves, endoscope reprocessors, and sterilization monitors effectively.
* Excellent organizational skills for inventory management, record keeping, and maintaining a clean, sterile environment.
* Understanding of surgical instrument sterilization and handling protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
* Certification or training in sterile processing or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; ongoing education is encouraged.
