Job Description
The Structural Ironworker plays a vital role in constructing and assembling metal frameworks for commercial buildings, bridges, and industrial facilities. Working as part of a medium-sized crew reporting to a foreman, this position demands skilled installation, fabrication, and assembly of structural components while adhering to strict safety standards. The role requires operation of equipment such as cranes, hoists, welding machines, and cutting torches, with occasional travel involved to various project sites.
Responsibilities
Install iron and metal components according to blueprints
Read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications
Comply with all safety protocols and regulations on site
Fabricate metal parts using welding, cutting, and shaping techniques
Assemble and secure structural elements accurately
Operate cranes, hoists, welding machines, and cutting torches safely
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Proficient in blueprint interpretation
Basic welding knowledge
Rigging skills
Experience with hand and power tools
Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks
Strong teamwork and attention to detail
