Buyer – Manufacturing (Direct Materials)Location: Onsite in Wyoming, MIEmployment Type: Full-timeBuyer Position OverviewOur client is a well-established manufacturing organization seeking a Buyer I to support direct material procurement in a production-driven environment. This role is ideal for an early-career Buyer with 1–2 years of experience in direct purchasing who wants hands-on exposure to suppliers, cost negotiations, and day-to-day manufacturing support.The Buyer will work closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering to ensure materials are available to support production schedules while maintaining cost, quality, and delivery expectations.Key Responsibilities for BuyerSource and purchase direct materials, components, and sub-assemblies in support of manufacturing operationsSupport assigned commodity areas, assisting with supplier selection, pricing, and delivery performanceResolve supplier issues including late deliveries, quality concerns, and pricing discrepanciesMaintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within the ERP/MRP system, including pricing updates and item master maintenanceAssist with cost negotiations and identify opportunities for cost savingsMonitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal teams to mitigate material shortagesCommunicate regularly with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and timelinesSupport continuous improvement efforts within the supply chain and purchasing functionQualifications for Buyer1–2 years of experience in a direct buying or purchasing role within a manufacturing environmentExposure to purchasing materials such as metal, electrical components, fabricated parts, or mechanical components preferredExperience working in an ERP/MRP systemProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesEffective verbal and written communication skillsWillingness to learn, take direction, and grow within a purchasing or supply chain career path #LI-MS6 #INAPR2026 #ZRCFS
