This position sits at the intersection of setup, process improvement, and automation — ideal for someone who wants to go beyond basic setups and play a key role in building a next-generation CNC operation . - What You'll Be Doing Perform complete setups on multi-axis CNC lathes using blueprints, digital files, and job travelers Prepare tooling, fixtures, and offsets to ensure efficient startups and repeatability Coordinate with Planning to stage upcoming jobs and minimize downtime between setups Work with Engineering to improve setup processes and machining efficiency Calculate feeds and speeds to optimize tool life and cycle times Support automation systems including bar feeders, robotic cells, and automated inspection Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and automated gauges Make offset adjustments and troubleshoot machining issues Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on CNC machines and automation systems Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on setup reduction and throughput - What You Bring Experience setting up multi-axis CNC lathes from blueprint to production Familiarity with Fanuc and/or Siemens controls CAD/CAM programming knowledge preferred ( Esprit a plus ) Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, and tool optimization Ability to perform precision inspection and maintain tight tolerances Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality standards Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, holders, and tool grades Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor equipment repair Willingness to work overtime and travel occasionally for training (expenses paid) - About DW Products DW Screw Machine Products is a precision CNC turning and Swiss machining manufacturer based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with over 70 years of proven performance .
