Test TechnicianLocation: Hayward, CA (on-site)Shift: Day Shift, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PMAbout 1XWe build humanoid robots that work alongside people to solve labor shortages and create abundance.The RoleWe are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Test Technician to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for setting up, executing, and supporting a variety of thermal, mechanical, and electrical tests. Your work will play a critical role in generating high-quality test data that informs design, reliability, and validation decisions. This role requires strong technical aptitude, adaptability, and close collaboration with test engineers, design engineers, and reliability teams.You WillProcure, set up, and maintain test equipment including fixtures, power supplies, data acquisition systems, cabling, and workstationsPrepare and connect Devices Under Test (DUTs) according to test plans and engineering requirementsExecute tests, monitor performance, and ensure safe and reliable operation of test setupsTroubleshoot test setups, equipment, and DUT issues during executionPerform post-test teardown, inspection, and basic failure analysisCollect, organize, and summarize test data and observationsPrepare clear test summaries and reports to communicate results to engineering stakeholdersSupport continuous improvement of test processes, fixtures, and lab organizationCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design, reliability, quality, and manufacturing Must Have2-5 years of experience working in a test lab or engineering laboratory environmentFamiliarity with thermal, mechanical, and electrical testing methodsExperience collecting, analyzing, and reporting data using Microsoft ExcelStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high variation in tasksDemonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering and technical teamsHands-on aptitude with tools, instrumentation, and lab equipmentExperience supporting reliability or validation testingFamiliarity with basic statistical analysisExperience working with data acquisition systems or test automationBackground in robotics, electromechanical systems, or hardware development environments Benefits & CompensationSalary Range: $30 - $50 per hourHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidays
