Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.BASIC PURPOSEThe purpose of this position is to assist the Program Director in monitoring the daily activities of the staff and children, to enforce the State and County licensing regulations throughout the Center and to assist with the clerical duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCreate and maintain a safe space for children to learn and growAssist Program Director with supervising, evaluating, training and guiding assigned staffEnsure staff understand and adhere to internal and external standards and licensing requirements (i.e. CA Education Codes Title 5, Title 22)Interact with children and parents and encourage their involvement in activitiesAssist Program Director with developing, maintaining and tracking student's working folders and Desired Results Developmental Profiles (DRDP)Assist Program Director the bi-annual evaluation of children's environmentsSubstitute, as needed, in classrooms ensuring adequate staff ratiosEngage with parents and maintain good relationships with familiesMaintain attendance and meal count records in office for monthly stats.Coordinate intake/exit procedures in compliance with licensing requirementsConduct community outreachMaintain inventory of office and janitorial suppliesAttend staff meetings, training courses and provide training on in-service daysMaintain and execute confidential information according to HIPPA standardsMaintain a highly detailed and organized filling systemAnswer phone, handle routine questions and direct callsUtilize harm reduction and trauma informed care principlesMaintain a professional image and procedures for the front officeComplete written documentation of participant infractionsMaintain a neat and organized filling systemCheck and respond to emails and voicemails on a regular basisAdhere to confidentiality standardsOther related duties, as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTSMinimum of 5 years' experience of working with young children in a childcare setting or Child Development CenterMinimum of 2 years supervising adultsDemonstrated ability to work with children in an active environmentUnderstanding of developmentally appropriate practices for infants, toddlers and preschoolersAbility to work with people of diverse backgroundsAbility to operate under stressful working conditions in a rapidly changing work environment with multiple priorities is requiredAbility to speak and write the English language at a high and professional levelHigh degree of confidentialityComputer literate in Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel and Outlook preferredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent and professional telephone etiquette and presenceHigh degree of organizational skillsApproach problem solving creativelyStrong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasksCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSAssociates level degree in Early Childhood education, required. Bachelor level degree preferred.Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicleMust be 21 years or olderComplete The Salvation Army vehicle course trainingMust have Site Supervisor permit or equivalentMinimum of 24 ECE/CD units completed prior to hireCPR and Mandated Reporter CertificateMust pass Live Scan and other background screeningsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basisAbility to grasp, push, and/or pull objectsAbility to reach overheadAbility to operate telephoneAbility to lift up to 25-40 lbs.Ability to operate a computerAbility to process written, visual, and/or verbal informationAbility to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
