The role focuses heavily on negotiated and relationship-driven work, collaborating closely with preconstruction, operations, and executive leadership.This position offers long-term stability, leadership visibility, and the chance to contribute within a mature estimating department supported by strong systems, historical data, and repeat clients.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed electrical estimates from conceptual through GMP and final pricing stagesPerform quantity takeoffs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, and specialty systemsReview drawings, specifications, and scope documents to ensure complete and accurate pricingDevelop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing using historical data and current market conditionsParticipate in negotiated work, value engineering, budgeting, and preconstruction planningCoordinate with project management, operations, and field leadership to align estimates with execution strategiesSolicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor proposalsIdentify scope gaps, risk items, and opportunities for cost optimizationSupport executive leadership with bid strategy, schedule alignment, and risk assessmentMaintain estimating databases, assemblies, and pricing benchmarksQualifications5+ years of electrical estimating experience with a commercial or industrial electrical contractorStrong understanding of electrical systems, means and methods, and field operationsExperience with negotiated work, design-assist, or preconstruction services strongly preferredProficiency with estimating software such as Accubid (Classic/Enterprise/Anywhere), ConEst, or similar platformsAbility to read and interpret complex construction documents and specificationsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsCollaborative mindset with the ability to work directly with leadership and operations teamsStable work history and interest in long-term career growthWhy This OpportunityDecades-established contractor with a proven reputation in the Houston marketMassive negotiated backlog providing stability and predictabilityMinimal reliance on hard-bid, low-margin workStrong internal support, systems, and historical dataDirect access to decision-makers and executive leadershipLong-term career opportunity with growth potentialCompetitive compensation and benefits packageAbout Elite Executive SolutionsElite Executive Solutions is a family-operated, U.S.-based executive search firm specializing exclusively in the electrical and construction industries.
