Yard Operations Associate / Driver

Job Description Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and fit Yard Operations Associate & Delivery Driver to manage the efficient flow of materials in our yard and ensure timely, safe delivery of pole barn kits to customer sites. This hybrid role involves organizing inventory, preparing orders, operating equipment such as trucks, trailers, and forklifts, and performing general yard maintenance duties to maintain a safe and organized work environment.Responsibilities: Loading & Material Handling: Accurately pick, prepare, and assemble building materials and pole barn kits for shipment or customer pickup, ensuring all orders match documentation. Load and unload materials from flatbed or box trucks using mechanical freight-handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.Delivery & Transportation: Safely drive company vehicles (e.g., 1-ton truck, flatbed) to deliver pole barn kits and other building materials to customer job sites in a timely manner. Navigate various routes, potentially in difficult conditions like heavy traffic or inclement weather.Yard Organization & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and logical yard and work area at all times, placing incoming inventory in proper locations. Perform general maintenance tasks such as picking up trash, light repairs, and ensuring the upkeep of the grounds.Safety & Compliance: Conduct daily inspections of delivery vehicles and all material handling equipment (e.g., forklift) to ensure safe operating condition. Adhere strictly to all company, state, and federal safety and DOT regulations.Inventory Management: Assist with inventory counts, maintain accurate records of material stock, and report any discrepancies or damages.Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service during yard interactions and deliveries, obtaining necessary signatures and addressing customer inquiries politely and professionally.Documentation: Complete all required paperwork, including daily driver logs, delivery manifests, and maintenance reports, accurately and promptly.Qualifications: Fluent in EnglishValid Driver's License / CDL preferred but not required.Must be experienced with pulling trailers.Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment; certification is a plus.Ability to perform manual tasks, including frequent lifting of materials weighing up to 50-100 pounds, in varying weather conditions.Strong attention to detail for accurate order fulfillment and record-keeping.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to coordinate with dispatchers, coworkers, and customers.Time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.A strong work ethic, reliability, and a safety-conscious mindset.As we are a drug free workplace, you must be able to pass a drug test.Benefits/Perks Overtime ApprovedGreat Work EnvironmentCareer Advancement OpportunitiesWork Location: Office located in East Palatka, deliveries vary throughout Florida.
