Special Security Representative/SAP Physical Security Assistant

Job DescriptionThe SSR/SAP Physical Security Assistant is responsible for day-to-day management and administration of the organization’s Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and Special Access Program (SAP) physical security programs, ensuring the protection of facilities, information, and assets. This position requires a strong understanding of Department of Defense security instructions, policies and procedures, as well as the ability to implement and maintain effective security measures. This position serves primarily as the Special Security Representative (SSR) for the organization’s SCIF. The SSR is a key advisor to the organization’s management on all security-related matters for the SCIF and works collaboratively with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Cybersecurity Specialists to ensure a secure operating environment.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThis position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron/TGBC at Eglin AFB as a member of a security team responsible for safeguarding secure facilities. This is NOT a remote position. This support includes the following:Will work in collaboration with the organization’s SSO, GSSO, ISSM and Cybersecurity Specialists for all manner of personnel security, information and facility security management activitiesManages Entry Authorization List (EAL) updates, Alarm Authorization Appointment updates, Intrusion Detection System Alarm testing, and Access Control Systems activity monitoringAssists the SSO, Site Security Manager with SCIF security efforts, to include daily management and administration of facility/personnel recordsAdministers the INFOSEC program, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems and dataAssists with Top Secret Control Officer dutiesProcesses and manages visitor requests for both inbound and outbound personnel via DISSVerifies personnel SAP accesses via JADEAssists with management of security containers and associated access/protection mechanisms designed to ensure proper handling of sensitive materialsAssists with management of the control of media, including handling, destruction and storage of classified materialsAuthors and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Emergency Action Plans (EAP), for classified facilities, ensuring they are up-to-date and in compliance with governing authoritiesDevelop and implement the organization’s annual security training planMaintain access to multiple Classified networked systemsAbility to open/close classified facilitiesAd-hoc support as requiredAt COLSA, people are our most valuable resource and centered at our core value. We invite you to unite your talents with opportunity and be a part of our “Family of Professionals!” Learn about our employee-centric culture and benefits here. https://www.colsa.com/culture_benefits Required ExperienceRequired Qualifications/Skills: Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:Bachelors Degree and 4 to 8 years of relevant experience.Associates Degree and 9 to 12 years of relevant experienceHigh School Diploma (Or equivalent) and 12 to 16 years of experienceUS Citizenship required; Current and active DoD Secret Clearance adjudicated within the past five years with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top-Secret ClearanceAbility to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility and maintain program access as required.Knowledge of Department of Defense and USAF directives relative to personnel, industrial and physical security programsStrong work ethic; Comfortable working in a team environment with minimal supervision.Ability to communicate and present technical details both written and verbally.Thorough, detail oriented, and organized, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at onceSelf-motivated, proactive, and able to take responsibility for identifying, organizing, coordinating, and executing necessary tasks leading to the successful accomplishment of assigned dutiesProficiency with the Microsoft Suite of Office applicationsAble to travel to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations, CONUS and OCONUS, up to 25% of the time.Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.Preferred ExperienceAn active DoD Top Secret security clearance is highly desiredExperience administering security-focused policies, procedures and methods to protect national security information, personnel and facilitiesExperience in developing and implementing security plans, standard operating procedures and emergency action plansPossess strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience utilizing Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and/or Scattered Castles, or other classified databasesExperience using JADE for tracking and verifying SAP personnel accessFamiliarity with the ICD 705 Technical Specifications for Construction and Management of Sensitive Compartmented Information FacilitiesFamiliarity with DoDM 5105.21 SCI Administrative Security ManualFamiliarity with DoDM 5205.07 Special Access Program Security ManualApplicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
