The Quick Details:Gym: Train Smarter + Harder | www.trainsmarterandharder.com | 925-306-0888Start Date: Spring 2026 (no later than June 1)Location: 3341 Walnut Blvd, Suite 320, Brentwood, CAPosition Type: Full-time or part-time; hourly to start, transition to salaried.Compensation: Starting at $20/hr and up to $55/hr, based on experience, skillset, and role responsibility. Performance-based increases are built in. Defined pathway to salary, PTO, continuing education support, and profit-sharing tied to tenure and membership benchmarks.About UsWe are a family-owned gym in Brentwood, CA, serving 200+ adult and athlete members. We offer personal training, semi-private strength & conditioning training, sports performance training, remote training, 24/7 open gym access, nutrition coaching, and massage/rehab services.We coach our members through 4 to 6-week strength & conditioning programs, tailored to their abilities and goals. We offer something other gyms in our area don’t–personal attention, evidence-based programming, and high-quality coaching.Who We’re Looking ForA coach who wants responsibility, growth, and ownership — not just hours on a schedule.You show up early, prepared, and take ownership of your sessions — no excuses, no scrambling.You actively pursue growth: reading, learning, asking questions, and refining your craft.You care about people — their safety, progress, and experience — as much as you care about the program itself.Minimum Qualifications1+ year in-person coaching experience (S&C, personal training, or group coaching)Current Personal Training or Strength & Conditioning certification or degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related fieldStrong communication and presence on the floor (you already know how to lead a group training session)Growth mindset and commitment to continuous developmentWillingness to contribute beyond coaching (administrative tasks, events, cleaning, team support)Expectations of the RoleCoaching (10-40 hrs/week): Weekdays and/or weekendsLead semi-private strength & conditioning sessions for adults and/or athletesPrepare before sessions and reset the floor afterCommunicate with members before and after sessionsAdditional Paid Opportunities Available (0-20 hr/week):Licensed LMT, PT, AT, or DC (private treatment room available)Advanced program design & periodization (TeamBuildr)Social media & content creation (IG, FB, YouTube, Canva)Exercise demo & educational video productionAdmin: tours, lead follow-up, scheduling, billing, and inventorySpreadsheet and tracking system managementEducational workshops & seminarsNutrition coaching & habit accountabilityFacility maintenance or light DIY skillsWhat Makes Us DifferentFamily-Owned & Hands-On: Learn directly from owners who coach daily.Coaching Standard: Every session is personal and rooted in best practice.Overdeliver Mentality: We care deeply about members, interns, and coaches.
