DevOps Systems Engineer

OverviewWe are looking for a talented, self-motivated, and experienced systems engineer to help support the public cloud and enhance DevSecOps practices to automate workflows for the enterprise. The environment offers you exciting opportunities to work with the latest technology, platforms, tools, services, and workflows.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain operational components in public clouds, such as AWS, Azure as well as private cloudCreate tools and processes that enhance operational workflowsConfigure and deploy containerized microservice workloads (Docker/Kubernetes: EKS)Collaborate with a team of DevOps engineers to help maintain the production application and infrastructure across multiple cloud providers and regionsWork closely with development teams to improve workflows around build, test, and deployment of applicationsDesign new tools and utilities to automate the infrastructure managementBuild and maintain monitoring, alerting, and trending operational tools within a cloud environmentPerform day-to-day support of the applications covering deployment, patching and general administrationTroubleshoot the system and provide root cause analysisProvide rotational 24/7 on-call technical supportRequirements2+ years of relevant work experience, focused on infrastructure management and automationExperience with cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure)Experience with UNIX/Linux environmentsExperience with configuration management systems (Puppet/Chef)Ability to write code in Python/PowerShell for infrastructure scriptingStrong understanding of build/automation systems, such as Jenkins, GitHub ActionsStrong knowledge and experience with GitExperience with infrastructure provisioning tools, such as CloudFormation or TerraformAbility to automate self-service workflowsUnderstanding/experience of cloud and web security is a plusBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related STEM fieldRecommended QualificationsProficiency with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and GrafanaPrevious experience with cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform and CloudFormationExperience with Jenkins pipelines and librariesWorking experience with Linux containers (Docker) and container orchestration systems such as KubernetesPrevious experience supporting mission-critical distributed systemsAbility to share your expertise through documentation and mentorshipPassionate about creating workflows that help produce a great self-service developer experienceGood problem-solving skills and passion to learn, explore new technologiesTotal RewardsEsri’s competitive total rewards strategy includes industry-leading health and welfare benefits: medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance for employees (and their families), 401(k) and profit-sharing programs, minimum accrual of 80 hours of vacation leave, twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
