Onsite Project Manager
Lead Daily Onsite Operations for a Participant-Based ProjectWe are seeking an experienced, hands-on Onsite Project Manager to lead daily operations for a participant-based data collection project in New York City. You will supervise the onsite team, manage participant flow and multiple concurrent sessions, maintain accurate reporting, and serve as the main connection between the onsite and remote project teams.Contract Type: Temporary hourly contractLocation: New York, NYProject Schedule: Several defined onsite collection periods between September and DecemberTraining: Mandatory paid training in SeptemberWorking Hours: Full-day onsite shifts during standard business hoursAnticipated project periods: one week in September, two weeks in November, and one week in December. Candidates available for all phases are strongly preferred. The complete schedule will be shared during screening.What You Will Be Doing Lead day-to-day onsite operations and confirm the site, staff, and session areas are ready before participants arrive.Supervise and support Research Assistants, including assigning rooms, stations, sessions, breaks, and daily responsibilities.Manage participant check-in, attendance, consent, session flow, and completion status across multiple concurrent sessions.Coordinate with recruiters and schedulers regarding late arrivals, cancellations, no-shows, standby participants, and replacement needs.Monitor daily targets, make timely operational decisions, and step into onsite duties when needed to prevent disruption.Maintain accurate attendance records, staffing records, trackers, session information, and daily reports.Provide regular updates on progress, attendance, staffing, risks, incidents, and operational issues.Ensure the onsite team follows project instructions, confidentiality requirements, data-handling procedures, and site policies.Support daily setup, closeout, reconciliation, and onboarding or training of replacement staff when needed.Who We Are Looking For Experienced Project Managers, Site Leads, Operations Leads, Field Managers, Research Coordinators, Event Managers, or similar professionals who have led onsite teams and operations.Hands-on leaders who can manage the broader operation while stepping in wherever needed to keep participant sessions running smoothly.Highly organized professionals who can manage multiple rooms, sessions, staff assignments, participant movements, schedules, and daily targets at the same time.Calm problem-solvers who make timely decisions, identify risks, resolve onsite issues, and escalate appropriately.Clear communicators with experience working directly with remote teams, clients, partners, or external stakeholders.Detail-oriented professionals who are comfortable maintaining spreadsheets, shared trackers, attendance records, staffing information, and daily reports.Dependable candidates who can remain actively engaged onsite throughout full-day shifts and support all scheduled project phases.Preferred Experience Research studies, user research, data collection, technology testing, events, or other participant-based programs.Managing Research Assistants, moderators, field staff, or temporary project teams.Participant scheduling, consent processes, attendance management, session tracking, or onsite study operations.Confidential projects requiring careful adherence to procedures and data-handling requirements.
