Entry to Mid-Level Sheet Metal Welder
Job OverviewOur esteemed client is in search of a dedicated Entry-level to Mid-level Welder to join their dynamic sheet metal and fabrication team. This position is structured as a Temp to Hire opportunity, offering a paid working interview for qualifying candidates seeking immediate employment.Key ResponsibilitiesInterpret blueprints and schematics, taking precise measurements to strategize layouts and welding procedures.Utilize a tape measure with proficiency to ensure accuracy.Assess and select appropriate welding equipment and methodologies based on project specifications.Configure components for welding in alignment with set specifications, including cutting materials with powered saws.Prepare parts for welding by operating angle grinders effectively.Align components using squares and clamps to ensure precision.Execute MIG welding across various positions (vertical, horizontal, and overhead).Demonstrate the ability to weld 18-24 gauge sheet metal as well as heavier 1⁄2” plate materials.Exhibit familiarity with structural shapes such as square tubing, I-beams, and channels.Assemble components utilizing both power and hand tools, maintaining excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.Required SkillsStrong capability in reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.Proficient in precise measurement techniques using a tape measure.Knowledgeable in various welding methods and equipment.Competent in operating angle grinders and setting up components for welding.Skilled in MIG welding across multiple positions.Experience in welding both light and heavy materials.Attention to detail and adept problem-solving skills are essential.QualificationsEntry-level to mid-level experience in welding is required.Candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and background check.A keen eye for detail combined with a strong problem-solving aptitude is necessary.Career Growth OpportunitiesThis position offers a pathway for professional advancement within the welding and fabrication industry, allowing you to develop your skills and grow your career in a supportive environment.Compensation And BenefitsCompetitive starting pay ranging from \(17 to \)19 per hour.Potential for overtime on Saturdays.Location:East Tulsa area.
