As a Logistics Intern you will get a variety of hands-on experience in dispatching trucks, customer service, and learning in depth knowledge about the industry. You will also gain a variety of professional skills by working with different departments within the company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Dispatch orders in a timely and efficient manner. Communicate with drivers and direct them to delivery locations. Work directly with surrounding areas to better service customers by utilizing multiple plants and look to share trucks. Ability to multitask and stay focused while dealing with various contractors, salespeople, dispatchers, and other personnel. Talk with customers by phone and enter data into computer system. Solicit future orders from customers and enter order into computer system. Negotiate with customers' acceptable delivery times to prevent lost orders. Document customer complaints and forward to Dispatch Manager and/or Sales Representative. Other duties as assigned by the manager. Qualifications and Requirements: Excellent communication skills, verbal and written to build strong relationships while promoting the organization. Able to prioritize projects, high attention to detail, excellent customer service skills and ability to follow up in a timely manner. Excellent computer skills including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with a minimum of 3 years completed, or graduated with a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or a related area.
