Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
The Kelly Group is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector for its Lafayette, Indiana, facility. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in structural steel and/or sheet metal fabrication. This role is responsible for ensuring welding quality, code compliance and adherence to customer and regulatory requirements throughout the fabrication process.This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:Have and maintain AWS CWI certification and serve as the company's welding quality authorityUnderstand and maintain strong knowledge of the AWS D1.1 and D1.3 codesInspect welds for compliance with applicable codes and standards, including customer specificationsReview and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, fabrication drawings and specificationsDevelop, review and maintain documentation, specifications, records and qualificationsCoordinate and witness welder qualification and re-qualification testingPerform visual inspections and coordinate non-destructive testing (UT, MT, PT) as requiredWork closely with fabrication and quality teams to resolve weld-related issuesDocument inspection results and maintain quality recordsSupport internal and customer audits related to welding and quality systemsShow a solid understanding of welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW) and guide fabrication team on requirements and best practicesOther preferred qualifications sought include:Experience in a fabrication shop environment (structural steel preferred)Familiarity with customer-specific quality requirements and auditsKnowledge of AISC requirements and fabrication standardsExperience working with quality management systems (ISO or equivalent)Occasional overtime may be required for this position.The Kelly Group offers a complete benefits package, including:Comprehensive group medical, Rx, dental and vision coverageHealth care and dependent care pre-tax flexible spending account optionsPaid life/AD&D insuranceShort-term and long-term disability401(k) retirement plan option with employer matchPaid time off and paid vacationPaid holidaysEEO STATEMENTThe Kelly Group is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, genetic information, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status or any other characteristic protected by law.Salary: $26 - $35 per hourJob Posted by ApplicantPro
