Position Title: Lead Full Stack EngineerLocation: McLean, VA (Remote – Preferred DMV / East Coast Time Zone)Clearance Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required (due to federal contract compliance requirements)Position Status: Contract-to-HirePay Rate: $80–$100/hr W2 (flexible based on experience)Position Description:We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to support a high-impact, federal-aligned platform engineering initiative. In this role, you will partner with software development teams to enable adoption of a modern cloud platform, improve engineering workflows, and support application migration efforts across complex enterprise environments. This is a customer-facing technical leadership role that requires deep expertise across full-stack development, cloud architecture, DevOps practices, and distributed systems. You will work directly with engineering teams to understand their environments, evaluate system architecture, and design scalable onboarding and migration paths to the platform. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, agile environments and brings a strong combination of hands-on engineering depth and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with engineering teams to assess application architectures, development environments, and deployment workflowsDesign and implement onboarding and migration strategies to support platform adoption at scaleProvide technical leadership across cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automationTroubleshoot application, infrastructure, and deployment issues across distributed systemsGuide best practices in scalable system design, microservices, and cloud-native architectureDevelop technical documentation, onboarding guides, and engineering best practicesLead technical discussions and act as a trusted advisor to engineering stakeholdersPartner cross-functionally to resolve complex technical and integration challengesLeverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and accelerate prototypingSupport continuous improvement of developer experience and platform adoptionRequired Skills/Education:7+ years of software engineering experience building full-stack applicationsStrong programming experience in TypeScript, Golang, and/or Python5+ years of experience with AWS cloud services and CI/CD pipelinesExperience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Flux, or similar deployment automation tools4+ years of experience with containerization technologies such as Docker4+ years of experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)4+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar tools)4+ years of experience with observability tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, or New RelicStrong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and software architecture patternsExperience using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or WindsurfStrong communication and technical leadership skillsAbility to thrive in agile, fast-paced, customer-facing environmentsPreferred Qualifications:Experience building or supporting Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) or developer enablement toolsExperience with AWS services including EKS, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, and SNSExperience writing technical documentation for engineering audiencesStrong troubleshooting skills across code, infrastructure, and deployment pipelinesPrior experience in platform engineering, solutions engineering, or professional services rolesAbout Seneca ResourcesAt Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm, we are a trusted career partner.
