Oakwood City School District Position: Administrative Assistant (School Secretary) Location: Smith Elementary School Start Date: July 20, 2026 Work Calendar: 218 days Oakwood City School District is seeking a highly organized, service-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of Smith Elementary. This position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, efficient school environment for students, families, and staff, while ensuring accurate recordkeeping and strong communication across the school community. Position Overview Smith Elementary serves pre-kindergarten through sixth grade, and the administrative Assistant provides support to the building under the direction of the building principal. The role requires professionalism, discretion with confidential information, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced school setting. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary contact for office visitors, students, and families Manage telephone communications and direct inquiries appropriately Maintain student attendance, enrollment, and permanent records Support scheduling, building calendar management, and meeting logistics Process student dismissals, late arrivals, and parent communications Maintain accurate records in accordance with district policies and procedures Prepare reports, correspondence, and office documentation Support purchasing processes, inventory tracking, and office operations Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information Provide general administrative support and assist with special projects Working Environment This position requires consistent interaction with students, staff, families, and the public.
