Firearms Service Advisor
Firearms Service Advisor (Gun Shop Experience Required)
Wright Armory is one of the largest gunsmith shops in Arizona, servicing over 6,000 firearms per year. We are expanding our front-of-house team and are looking for a customer-facing professional with real gun shop experience and strong service instincts.
This is not a retail associate role and not a gunsmith position. It is a service-driven, customer-facing role in a regulated environment where firearms knowledge, attention to detail, and professionalism matter.
This position is a strong fit for someone who is already a firearms enthusiast and has worked in a service-based customer role such as a gun shop, range, or similar environment.
What You'll Do
Serve as a primary front-of-house contact for customers bringing firearms in for service
Answer phone calls related to gunsmith services and route questions appropriately
Write, maintain, and update service tickets/work orders with accuracy and clarity
Communicate with customers via phone and email regarding service status and questions
Maintain awareness of open service tickets, repair status, parts on order, and scheduling
Ensure work orders accurately reflect issues, repairs, notes, and billable labor
File and maintain service paperwork in an organized, compliant manner
Assist with outbound shipments to customers and dealers
Support parts inventory tracking and ordering
Assist with ATF-related recordkeeping and inventory audits as directed
Work comfortably in both an office and shop environment
What We’re Looking For
Prior gun shop or FFL-environment experience is required
Comfortable discussing firearms, platforms, and accessories without a script
Working knowledge of ATF rules and regulated firearm workflows
Experience in a customer-facing, service-oriented role
Strong written communication skills with attention to detail
Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment while remaining safety-conscious
Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
Willingness to learn Wright Armory’s systems and processes
Firearms Knowledge Expectations:
Applicants do not need to be gunsmiths, but should have a working familiarity with common handgun, rifle, and shotgun platforms, modern and legacy firearms, and firearm accessories at a practical level.
Physical and Legal Requirements:
Ability to stand and be on feet for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Must be legally able to possess and work around firearms
Must be able to pass an FBI NICS background check
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn work order management software
General awareness of shop safety practices preferred
Training:
Detailed training will be provided for candidates who already possess a solid firearms industry foundation and a service-oriented mindset.
How to Apply:
If you are a gun person who takes customer service seriously and wants to work in a professional, high-volume shop environment, we encourage you to apply.
Please submit your resume and a brief note describing your firearms background and customer-facing experience.
