RN - MedSurg/Tele• About Facility:o 777 Hemlock St, Macon, GA 31201o 637 Licensed Bedso Level 1 Trauma Designationo Teaching Hospitalo Chest Pain Centero Stroke Center• Unit Information:o Beds: Each Med Surg unit has 20-36 bedso Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years Med/Tele RN expo Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes• Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:o Med surg / Telemetry - all inpatient med surg units• Patient Ratios:o RN: 1:4-6o LPN: 1:4-6o CNA: up to 1:14• Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:o BLS requiredo ACLS preferred - traveler will be required to pass and EKG competency exam during onboardingo Certification in med surg is a plus• Skills required:o Trach chare, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucometer,o Common drips: Insulin drips, Heparin drips, drips to titrate to HR not BP• Support within the Department:o CNA - will assist with Vitals, blood glucose checks, baths, bed changes, feeding if need, patient safety attendant; walk pts, turn ptso Unit Secretary: on unit 7a-11p; then house wide call secretary 11p-7ao Charge nurse: Yeso Phlebotomy? Most units are lab collect phlebotomy; RNs draw off of CVLso IV/VAT Team? Not an IV team - do have a PICC teamo Resource Nurse? Yes, we have discharge nurses, Resource team floats to all unitso RT 24/7o Hospitalist 24/7o Intensivist 24/7• Technology/Equipment:o EMR: EPICo IV Pump: Alariso Med dispensing: Pyxiso Monitors: Phillipso Unit specific equipment: VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips,• Floating: If yes, where?o Travelers are utilized in a float pool capacity - will be required to float to all Med/Tele units in house, as needed• Orientation (facility and unit):o 1 day orientation with work on educational moduleso 2 days departmental• Other notes:o Scrub Color: RN- Navy; LPN- Ceil Blueo Parking: Free?
