If you are motivated, dependable, and ready to grow with a company that values its team, you will feel right at home here.What is Expected of You in this RoleMaterial Handler is a junior-level operations position responsible for stacking, organizing, and handling lumber at the outfeed of industrial saws. This role supports mill productivity by ensuring finished material is properly sorted, stacked, banded, and maintained in a safe and orderly manner. The position also includes housekeeping responsibilities during production downtime to maintain a clean and safe work environment.Stack and sort rough-cut lumber by dimension, species, and gradeMaintain neat, stable stacks and ensure accurate material flowBand and wrap lumber securely per company standardsIdentify and report damaged or defective materialsKeep the work area clean; assist with sweeping, sawdust/scrap removal during downtimeCompliance with all safety rules, work instructions, and PPE requirements (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, work gloves)Work closely and cooperatively with saw operators and other operations team membersPerform additional material-handling, material movement and other operational tasks as assignedRequirements:What You BringStrong work ethic and self-motivationAbility to work the assigned shift and OTConsistent attendance and punctualityAbility to work in a fast-paced industrial environmentAttention to detail and ability to follow instructionsPreferred but not required: (1) Prior experience in a warehouse, lumber yard, mill, or manufacturing; (2) Prior material-handling or labor experience; (3) Familiarity with safety protocols in an industrial settingWhat Are the Physical Demands?Ability to regularly lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbsAbility to work in prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, and liftingGood hand-eye coordination and manual dexterityAbility to read and communicate in EnglishAbility to work in an outdoor lumberyard and open warehouse settings with varying temperaturesExposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery that are typical of a lumber mill operationJoin a Team That Values Hard Work and TeamworkDoes this role sound interesting to you?
